A New Conversation About the Invisible Pressure of Leadership

A New Conversation About the Invisible Pressure of Leadership

Myra Swan Kotze is the creator of Accumulated Executive Pressure™ and founder of Elevated Woman, a deliberately limited boutique private practice for women in senior corporate leadership.

Her work brings language to the invisible pressure that can build over years of sustained executive responsibility—and to what becomes possible when that pressure is recognised before its footprints become impossible to ignore.

Myra is available for selected conversations, interviews and speaking opportunities exploring executive pressure, sustainable leadership, women in senior corporate leadership and the relationship between professional success and life beyond work.

Accumulated Executive Pressure™

The invisible pressure that builds through years of sustained executive responsibility—and why it can remain hidden while women continue to perform at a high level.

When the Whispers Become Screams

Recognising the footprints of accumulated pressure before they begin to compromise health, leadership, relationships and life beyond work.

Recognition • Release • Recovery™

A different approach to the pressure of leadership—one that does not require women to reduce their ambition or step away from responsibility.

Success Without Sacrifice

Why successful leadership should not require a woman to sacrifice her health, her career or the life she has worked so hard to build.

The Woman Behind the Executive Role

Why sustainable leadership requires us to consider not only the performance of the executive, but the wellbeing of the woman carrying the responsibility.

Questions to ask myra

Questions to ask myra

For podcast interviews, media conversations, panels and executive events, these questions offer a starting point for exploring Myra’s work and ideas.

Accumulated Executive Pressure™

  • What is Accumulated Executive Pressure™, and why did you believe this experience needed its own language?
  • How is Accumulated Executive Pressure™ different from everyday stress or burnout?
  • Why can this pressure remain invisible for so long, even while a woman continues to perform successfully?
  • What is happening beneath the surface when someone appears to be coping exceptionally well but has been carrying significant responsibility for years?

When the Whispers Become Screams

  • You talk about accumulated pressure leaving “footprints.” What are some of the early whispers women may be tempted to dismiss?
  • How do those whispers begin to become signals—and eventually screams?
  • Why are high-performing women often able to keep going long after the pressure has begun affecting other areas of their lives?

Recognition • Release • Recovery™

  • What does Recognition • Release • Recovery™ mean, and why does recognition have to come first?
  • What does it actually mean to release pressure that may have accumulated over many years?
  • What does recovery look like for a woman who still wants to lead, achieve and carry significant responsibility?

Success Without Sacrifice

  • Have we normalised personal sacrifice as an inevitable price of reaching senior leadership?
  • Why isn’t reducing ambition or stepping away from responsibility necessarily the answer?
  • What would change if women no longer believed they had to choose between professional success and personal wellbeing?

The Woman Behind the Executive Role

  • What can happen when an executive becomes so accustomed to carrying responsibility that she loses sight of the woman behind the role?
  • Why does life beyond work need to be part of the conversation about sustainable leadership?
  • If a senior woman listening to this conversation recognises herself in what you’re describing, what would you want her to know?
